On October 11, 2023, the Ministry of Education announced the "Plan to organize the TOPIK 2024 exam", which states the exam method and detailed schedule for next year's exam.

Accordingly, the number of exams opened abroad in 2024 will increase from 4 to a maximum of 8 exams. The paper-based test (PBT) will be administered in 90 countries and test on a PC with an Internet connection (TOPIK iBT) will gradually expand to 10 countries.

It is known that this is one of the follow-up measures for the project “300,000 people study abroad in Korea” (Study Korea 300K Project) was announced on August 16, 2023. Based on actual opinions, it shows that the number of Korean language tests abroad is not enough, on the contrary, the demand for Korean language proficiency tests is increasing. The number of registrations increased thanks to the growing interest in Korea, the Korean language and also Korean culture, since then the number of subscribers exceeded 400,000 for the first time. That's why Korea has decided to organize more Korean language exams abroad in 2024.

According to Mr. Shin Mun Gyu - Head of the Planning and Coordination Department of the Ministry of Education, Korea will strongly expand Korean language exams abroad, especially in countries with a need to study in Korea. is increasing like Vietnam, Indonesia, India....
